Course Content

ANALOG AND DIGITAL ELECTRONICS
The "Analog and Digital Electronics" course offers a thorough exploration of the principles and applications of analog and digital electronic circuits. The course begins with an introduction to semiconductor devices such as diodes, transistors (bipolar junction transistors and field-effect transistors), and operational amplifiers (op-amps). You will learn about their operating principles, characteristics, and practical uses in electronic circuits. The analog electronics portion of the course covers topics such as voltage dividers, amplifiers (including differential and operational amplifiers), filters (active and passive), oscillators, and power supplies. Emphasis is placed on understanding circuit analysis techniques, design considerations, and applications in signal processing and control systems. The digital electronics segment focuses on the analysis and design of digital circuits using logic gates, flip-flops, counters, registers, and programmable logic devices (PLDs). You will study Boolean algebra, combinational and sequential logic circuits, timing diagrams, and memory devices. The course also covers the basics of digital-to-analog (DAC) and analog-to-digital (ADC) converters. Throughout the course, practical examples, simulations, and hands-on experiments (where applicable) will reinforce theoretical concepts and develop problem-solving skills. By the end of this course, students will have a comprehensive understanding of both analog and digital electronics, preparing them for advanced studies or careers in electronics engineering.
